Joining LORN as a repository
Australian learning repositories that wish to share and sell their online teaching and learning content are invited to join LORN.
By joining LORN, a repository can achieve:- immediate Australia-wide exposure to the national training market
- a return on training resource investment
- cost-effective promotion of resources
- enhanced market research opportunities
- opportunities to exchange resources with other repository owners
- a collaborative approach to copyright agreements and issues.
Repositories wishing to join LORN must meet three criteria:
- Repositories must offer resources that are relevant to teaching and learning in the Australian VET sector, and that meet quality training product standards.
- The resources they offer must meet LORN content description and content packaging standards.
- Repositories must agree to and sign the LORN charter of participation, which contains essential information about joining LORN as a repository. The charter of participation is currently under review, but you can email the LORN project team to request a draft copy.
Joining LORN as a Consumer Access Provider (CAP)
Organisations that wish to display LORN search results within their organisation's website are also invited to join LORN as CAP members.
- a copy of the draft terms of use for LORN CAP members, which outlines the cooperative nature of the LORN initiative and the roles and responsibilities of LORN CAP members
- technical information about implementing the LORN application processing interface (API) to display LORN search results on your website.
The LORN charter of participation
All organisations who wish to participate in LORN are asked to acknowledge that LORN is a cooperative venture whose members share a commitment to building a dynamic VET sector that is well placed to meet Australia's skill challenges, and to participate in LORN in this spirit. The LORN charter of participation is currently a draft document that, when finalised, will outline the cooperative nature of the LORN initiative and the roles and responsibilities of LORN repository owners.Email the LORN project team to request a draft copy of the charter of participation.
